It took me about 1.5 hours to make this breakfast. Sunny side up eggs are ridiculously hard to cook if you don’t have a non-stick pan so I cooked a half dozen eggs just to make sure that we had back-ups. I wanted the bacon to be straight (as in not curl too much) so it would photograph well so I cooked all the bacon on really low heat. That was a pretty neurotic morning. On top of that, I refused to throw away the breakfast because I spent so much time making it, but I didn’t want to eat it because it had been sitting out for hours. If I could have lamented that plate, I would have.
